Sablehill GSDs Questionnaire

The Following questions are being asked of you so that the right puppy and the right placement of each puppy is made by bringing the various requirements of both puppy/dog and his/her's new owner(s) into perspective BEFORE a choice is made. I hope you will agree that the puppy/dog(s) welfare must be my foremost concern and consideration in considering a placement. Please answer the following questions as completely as you can, and return this when you finished. 

1). How did you here about Sablehill GSDs?

2). Have you ever owned a dog before. If yes what size was it, was it a purebred or mix, where is this dog now?

3). Why did you pick a German Shepherd, what do you know about the breed?

4). Have you ever owned a German Shepherd? 

5). What are you looking for in the puppy once it's an adult? Temperament wise. 

6). What training are you going to do with the puppy, as German shepherd Dogs need early training

and socialization? 

7). Do you understand what Obedience classes are and how they will help you and you puppy grow and live together? Is there a training class near you for you to join? Will you attend any training classes? If you need help looking for training classes in your area, please ask I am and will help you find one.

8). What actives or sports if any are you planning on doing with the dog? ( ie- Agility...this can only be started once the dog is 1 year, and is a great sport for the breed, Obedience Trails, Fly Ball, O'Rally, Schutzhund, Conformation Showing, Herding) 

9).Are you interested in a male or female puppy/dog? 

10). Have you considered an older dog instead of a 9 week old puppy? 

11). Do you have any other pets in the home?

12). Where will the puppy/dog live?

13). Does anyone in the home have allergic to animals? If yes how bad and are you 

aware that German Shepherd dogs are heavy shedders in Spring and Fall, and need to be groomed weekly.

14). Who will be the primary care giver of the puppy/dog?

15). Where will puppy/dog be during the day and during the night and when no one is home?

16). How many hours on average will the puppy be alone for in the day?

17). How many hours a day will the puppy/dog be outside, will it be alone? 

18). Is your yard fenced and or do you have a suitable pen for him/her?

19). Have you ever house trained a puppy before?

20). How long have you lived at your current address? Do you rent or own? If renting

does your landlord know your getting a German Shepherd Dog? 

21). Do you understand what the German Shepherd Dog is like? Trained and not trained?

22). What color do you prefer, Sable, Black, Black and Tan, Black and Red, Bi-Color.

23). Do you intend to breed the dog?

24). Do you understand the difference between Limited-Registration and Full-Registration? 

25). Do you understand what a Non-Breeding Contract is? 

26). Do you have a wish to show the puppy or dog in CKC or AKC shows or Trails? Would you be okay with the breeder showing or titling the dog?
